About Turtelino

From Olivier, the person building Turtelino

Why Turtelino

We're living in an era where education is more and more of a challenge for children and their parents. Turtelino tries to bring a little more fun into education — we're not a school, and not a university, we're an educational assistance platform. With that in mind, children should be safe, and privacy and safety are always high in our thoughts. As parents, we want the best for our children. Is Turtelino the best? We don't know — but we'll never stop building and improving it, trying every angle to make it educational, multilingual, fun, and a place where you can communicate, play, and find things other platforms don't offer unless you pay a serious, often automatically-recurring fee. We don't want to work that way — if we cover our costs, we're satisfied.

AI at Turtelino

Turtelino currently offers a huge amount of information and educational content that was created together with AI — because AI's abilities go far beyond what any one person could do alone. We're considering adding a full-time AI assistant to the site, but AI isn't cheap, and that will need a few more memberships before it can happen.

Turtelino has also added an AI lesson from an early age. Why? Because AI is all around us, and it's better to teach children how to use it safely and correctly from the start. As children grow older, the lesson becomes more advanced. This lesson was designed together with AI to keep it simple, correct, and safe to use.

Independent Teachers

Teachers offering private lessons through Turtelino are independent service providers. They set their own prices, schedules, and teaching methods, but must stay in line with Turtelino's code of conduct — every teacher is monitored on how they provide their lessons. We also know that every person has different needs, so we offer different ways to learn:

Teachers are not employees or representatives of Turtelino.

Turtelino acts as a platform and payment facilitator.

Guided and Regular Lessons

A lesson is a choice — one you or your child can make every time you log in.

Chatrooms & Classrooms

Students can join chatrooms or classrooms on Turtelino, so they can practice communicating with each other — young learners (and others) can record short voice or video messages inside a chatroom. Please think about your child's privacy: we monitor every room and step in whenever needed.

Chat-classrooms are created by teachers and offer a way to hold a lesson without video — a place to ask questions, get answers, and talk more freely than in a video class. It's also a nice, low-pressure way to find out whether a teacher is a good fit for your child.
